Communication is important in every relationship, and even more in Korea. Korean girls are taught to be discreet in matters of their heart and only an effective communication can lead you to the heart of your Korean girlfriend. Now, for communication with a Korean girl, it is not mandatory that you learn the Korean language, of course it’s better if you can memorize a phrase or two in Korean. All Koreans know English, so you can communicate your feelings to the Korean girl in English too. Korean or English it does not matter much really, because the essence of communication is what that is important in this matter. What you want to convey to the Korean girl is more important than what language are you speaking. Of course, there are the right 飄眉 manners to be followed too because Koreans like respect and modesty in a person. An effective communication effort combined with the right manners is the only way to reach out to the mind of the Korean woman and this article provides you some important clues on how to do that.
Communication can in fact be of two types. One, that is spoken and another that is unspoken and conveyed through body language. A perfect combination of these two types of communication is all that you need to convey your feelings. Your true feelings and intentions are the points that matter most in either type of communications with the Korean girl.
The internet has several excellent online resources to learn any language. First, there of course is Google translate where you put a phrase in English and you get the Korean translation and the pronunciation of the translation. You can start by knowing some common Korean phrases such as how to say ‘Excuse me’ or ‘thank u’ or ‘how are you’ in Korean. These small phrases can be real icebreakers to communicate in Korean. (God bless Google translate!). Apart from Google translate, there are also other online resources like this. There are only 40 letters in the Hangeul or the Korean alphabet, so it will not be much difficult to learn them.
Now to the body language part. Here are certain basic rules that you should follow.
1. Greet the Korean girl with a bow and do not try to shake hands unless she extends her hand to you. Koreans consider any kind of sudden physical touch offensive, so you should refrain from trying to shake hands or any other kind of unwarranted physical contact. When the Korean girl trusts you, she will herself extend her hand to you. Also don’t forget to bow while departing.
2. If you are shaking hands with a Korean woman, support the right forearm with your left hand as a sign of respect.
3. While sitting in front of a Korean woman, it is impolite to sit cross-legged or stretching the legs.
